About the Band
JIM SHAFER – bass guitar and vocals. Performing in touring stage bands since the age of fourteen and behind the microphone at radio stations all over the country for many years has given Jim much experience to bring to the Band Of Gold. He has shared the stage with countless national recording acts, and loves the classic Motown sound. Jims’ career has been in broadcasting, and he is an in-demand commercial voice and on camera talent for many businesses. Jim also hosts the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon in Charlotte, and is involved in many different charitable causes.
ROCCO CEFALO – keyboards and vocals. This talented musician hails from the south Jersey/Philadelphia area, and brings with him a big dose of Philly Soul! As the Band Of Gold’s music director, Rocco arranges all the songs and puts the show together. You’ll love the great sounds of the Hammond organ under Rocco’s hands and his great vocal ability adds a whole new sound to the group!
BO BAITY – lead guitar and vocals. Growing up in a musical family provided this musician a great foundation to build on! Performing since his early teens, Bo has shared the stage with just about every local and regional artist in the Carolinas, opened for national acts, and worked in recording studios from Atlanta to Nashville. Bo not only plays guitar, but lends his lead and harmony vocals to the Band of Gold.
SCOTTIE THOMAS – drums and vocals. This newest member of The Band Of Gold is a well respected music teacher in Gaston county, and brings with him a multi-decade resume’, going back to The Fabulous Flaires, Panic, The Catalinas, Groove Junkies and many more. A recording and touring veteran, Scottie lays down the groove!
DOUG DAVIS – lead vocals, guitar, percussion. This multi-talented musician has toured the world with a big showband, and brings years of experience to the Band Of Gold, and a very versatile vocal style as well. Doug has much experience in the recording studio, both as a performer and session producer with many CD and album credits to his name. He is very involved in his church, producing musical events at some of Charlotte’s biggest faith communities. His infectious stage presence always get the crowd involved in the party!
